Great article about making yourself more marketable on LinkedIn
I attended a career workshop recently and the speaker could not say enough about the tremendous value of LinkedIn. She explained how it allows you to paint a real picture of yourself (a resume can be limiting) and how you have to start building your LinkedIn network BEFORE you need it. This means, even if you have a position and are quite happy with it, you should still be working on your LinkedIn profile and network. LinkedIn is afterall, for more than just job hunting. Associations should have LinkedIn groups that can allow discourse between members and grow awareness of a cause. So, the bottom line...if you aren't on LinkedIn...It might be time to get started.
